Kingsley Moghalu, a former African Democratic Party (ADC) presidential candidate, has responded to the murder of Mr. Oyibo Chukwu, a Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District.
News Central had reported that Chukwu was murdered and set ablaze alongside other party members on Wednesday evening at Amaechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
It was gathered that unidentified persons were said to have accosted them while riding in a Sienna vehicle.
Reacting, Moghalu on Twitter, expressed sadness over the incident.
“What a tragedy! I’m deeply saddened. Oyibo was my classmate at the University of Nigeria (Enugu Campus) Law Faculty. Does politics have to be this desperate and violent?
“May his soul rest in peace. My sincere condolences to Oyibo Chukwu’s family,” he wrote on Twitter.
