Nigeria Not Mentioned In Top 1000 Global Universities Ranking

The 2025 global universities ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has been released.
The list features over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems across the world.

No Nigerian University made the list. University of Ibadan(UI) and the University of Lagos(UNILAG) ranked between 1100-1200.
Topping the list with the most entries is the United States with 197 ranked institutions. Following closely is the United Kingdom with 90 entries and then China with 71 entries.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) tops the list for the 13th consecutive year, followed by Imperial College London, the University of Oxford, Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge.

The QS uses academic excellence, reputation, and global diversity as yardsticks to evaluate institutions. The ranking showcases the need for Nigerian universities to upgrade their global competitiveness.
