Nigeria Partners With Boeing for Aviation Industry Growth

The Nigerian government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing, an aircraft manufacturer, to enhance the country’s aviation sector.

This development was disclosed by Tunde Moshood, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s Special Assistant on Media and Communications.

Moshood said the agreement also aims to expedite the purchase of aircraft and enhance Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure and operational standards.

The signing ceremony, which took place in the United States on Wednesday, was witnessed by key Nigerian aviation stakeholders, including executives from major Nigerian airlines, the top management team of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and representatives from the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON).

The MoU, signed by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and Anbessie Yitbarek, Boeing’s Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing for Africa, will see Boeing use its broad network of financiers and lessors to assist Nigerian airlines in acquiring newer-generation Boeing aircraft and provide integration, training, maintenance, and engineering support that will reduce operational downtimes.
