In the ongoing fight against thuggery and drug addiction, the Kano State Police Command reports that 44 individuals have been detained in separate operations across Kano city for armed robbery, thuggery, and drug trafficking.
The feat came after an aggressive clearance operation to restore calm in the state, led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, Officer in Charge of Anti-Daba Squad, according to a statement released on Thursday by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
The goal, according to Kiyawa, is to eradicate Kano State of all criminal activity, particularly the threat posed by thuggery, drug misuse, and other social vices.
“All the suspects from various addresses within Kano Metropolitan were arrested with dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, robbed and stolen properties.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations”, he said.
The State Commissioner of Police Command, Mamman Dauda, issued a warning that anyone discovered in possession of a firearm during the festival seasons will be arrested in order to ensure that the 2023 Eid El Fitr Sallah Celebrations take place without incident throughout the state.
He also warned that all offenders would be apprehended and subject to the full force of the law unless they repented or left the State entirely.
He expressed his gratitude to the wonderful people of Kano State for their ongoing assistance, comprehension, encouragement, and collaboration.
