According to the Oyo State Police Command, the raid on the home of Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, the Sacked Disciplinary Committee Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System, took place because the command learned from intelligence that his boys had prepared plans to wreak havoc in significant areas of Ibadan after their dissolution.
The command announced this while detaining 78 people for illegally possessing firearms, ammunition, and other items belonging to be members of the disbanded PMS.
Adebowale Williams, the state police commissioner, said in a statement to press on Tuesday at the state command headquarters in Eleyele Ibadan that the effort was thwarted by the command because of its proactive attitude and use of intelligence-driven monitoring.
He continued by saying that while Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary managed to escape with some of his men, one of the group members was killed in a gunfight.
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has ordered the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS).
The statement read, “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May 2023.”
