Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos from Abuja on Thursday in preparation for the Christmas celebrations. The Presidential Jet NAF 001, conveying President Tinubu, touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at 03:55 p.m. local time.
A welcoming crowd of supporters gathered at the airport, and the president was received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, alongside other dignitaries including the deputy governor, secretary to the Lagos State Government, and top government officials.
The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, led by Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, and members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), were also present to welcome President Tinubu.
Accompanied by his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and other close aides, President Tinubu enjoyed a traditional welcome from the Lagos State Cultural Troupe, featuring music and cultural dance.
After the airport reception, the president boarded a helicopter to Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi, from where he would proceed to his private residence in Lagos.
