Residents of Ogbogbene community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, South-south Nigeria, grief as five-month-old child, Karina Anthony (male) and another seven-year-old, Ebiowei Rachael (Female) drowned in flood water.
A resident told reporters that Ebiowei Rachael drowned in the surrounding water while Karina Anthony fell off the bed into the flooding water in their apartment.
According to reports, Bayelsa State’s flood waters have reportedly risen more over the past two weeks, putting citizens in danger and causing them to suffer.
Karina Anthony, who was five months old, and Ebiowei Rachael, seven, were the youngsters, according to Chief Harrish Ayemi, a community leader who corroborated the occurrence.
He claimed that the incident was just one of several setbacks that the flood had brought the residents of Ogbogbene Community.

This was stated at a press conference held at UN headquarters in New York by UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
Over 600 individuals have died, and 1.3 million people have been displaced, according to Nigerian authorities.
