The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has imposed a 20million naira bounty on any criminal arrested in the FCT.
Wike stated as the FCT police command in Abuja was displaying suspects in kidnappings, one Chance, and other crimes.
He explained that on no account should criminality persist in Abuja, stating that in a couple of days, the police and other security agencies will receive more communication gadgets for intelligence gathering and other equipment needed to carry out their duties effectively.
Over 200 people have reportedly been the victims of nearly 50 kidnapping instances in Abuja over the past three years, according to reports.
The Commissioner for Public Complaint for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) , Dalhatu Ezekiel, requested last month that the federal government prioritise the area’s security crisis and promptly declare a state of emergency.
In order to solve this important issue that affects the lives of FCT inhabitants, he had also urged Minister Wike to halt all ongoing projects.
