The Minister of Information and National Orientation in Nigeria, Mohammed Idris, has reassured citizens that better days lie ahead for the country. He urged Nigerians to brace for a brighter future as the programmes implemented by the administration begin to materialise.
Speaking on Friday at the opening of a high-level dialogue on delivering the renewed hope agenda in Abuja, the Minister declared, “Things will get better in Nigeria.”
Joined by other ministers and foreign partners during the dialogue themed “Leveraging International Cooperation to Enhance Trade, Investment, and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” the Minister noted that a lot of the work that was put in during the last 12 months is just now crystallising into reality.
Listing the specific programmes introduced, he highlighted the Consumer Credit Corporation, the Education Loan Fund, and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative.
Other initiatives include the Presidential Grant and Loan Scheme, agricultural efforts such as dry season farming and fertiliser distribution, the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, electricity sector reforms, tax and fiscal policy reforms, and national minimum wage negotiations.
All of these will go a long way to bring prices down, reduce the cost of doing business, put more money into the pockets of Nigerians, bring more electricity into our homes and industries, spur domestic and foreign investment, and push the country further on the path to true and lasting prosperity,” the Information Minister added.
He further expressed confidence that the administration’s engagement with Nigerians at home and abroad, regarding its programmes, prioritising truth and impact in the second year, will bring relief to the people.
