As part of events to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary in Abuja on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu announced the conferment of the national honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
Additionally, Tinubu conferred the honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
Furthermore, the President awarded the honour of the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) to the Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu.
Tinubu reassured Nigerians of better days ahead, acknowledging their resilience and tenacity to prevail and rise above circumstances while urging belief in the nation’s promise and the forging of a path toward a brighter future with support.
He also encouraged citizens to shape their destiny and build a brighter future for themselves and future generations as agents of change.
