Governor Nyesom Wike of the state of Rivers was unable to cast his ballot due to a problem with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
The governor and his wife went to the voting booth in unit 7 of ward 8 to cast their ballots, but the voting machine broke down.
The governor had received hurried explanations from INEC staffers that the broken BVAS was a widespread issue in the entire nation.
Then, the governor went back to his private residence. Before to the election, Wike’s conflict with the People’s Democratic Party’s, PDP, leadership garnered headlines.
The group he established, G-5, withdrew from Atiku Abubakar’s bid for president of the party.
In order to secure the ticket, Atiku had battled Wike. Additionally, he disregarded him and chose Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
