The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Danjuma Goje has been proclaimed the victor of the Gombe Central senatorial race by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Goje received 102,916 votes, according to INEC Returning Officer Prof. Mustapha Muhammad, who announced the results on Sunday in Kumo.
He triumphed against Bibikir Muhammad of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), who received 1,155 votes, and Aliyu Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 37,870 votes.
Goje, who currently serves as the senator for the senatorial district, formerly served as the governor of Gombe State for two terms.
