Hoodlums invaded the results collation centre for the Northern Senatorial District of Plateau’s presidential and National Assembly elections on Monday, February 27, disrupting the process.
After entering, they pushed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officers and other ad hoc staff members from the area, which halted the collation process.
The conflict started when Nehemiah Sanda, the returning officer for the Jos North/Bassa constituency election, demanded that party representatives sign tabulated results that showed that Musa Agah, the PDP candidate, had received the most votes.
In the meantime, Dr. Lazarus Maigoro, the Returning Officer for the Jos North LGA in the presidential election, has ordered the INEC to decide what to do with the results.
