Voting and accreditation took conducted concurrently in Obantoko Ward 7, Units 1 and 2, and Ward 6, Unit 10 in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Voters told newsmen that the BVAS was functioning well and that the election had been peaceful so far.
At every location inspected, security personnel were present, and the axis itself had fewer security obstacles than other regions.
The same thing happened at Itoku, Ward 11 Unit 19 Bata 1 and 2 in Abeokuta South, where a sizable number of voters went through registration and voting at the same time, despite the fact that election officials had earlier taken down some political party posters that had been posted at the polling place.
The voter turnout was also high at the polling places we visited in the state’s Iperu Remo Local Government Area.
At Iregun Ward 3 Polling Unit 3 and Ita-Osanyin Ward 3 Polling Unit 2, registration and voting commenced early.
At the numerous polling places visited, men and officers from the Nigerian Police, the National Narcotics Law Enforcement Agency, the EFCC, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps could be observed.
Voter participation in the state’s Yewa South Local Government Area was strong, although there was a hiccup in the voting process because to a malfunctioning BVAS.
Speaking with newsmen, the Presiding Officer of Ward 1 Unit 9, Mr Akinniyi Abayomi said the relevant authorities had been contacted to address the issue of malfunctioning BVAS.
Several of the voters, who claimed to have been in queue extremely early in the morning, expressed dismay over the delay and urged the INEC to swiftly do the duty.
In the meantime, the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ogun State has reaffirmed its dedication to making sure that all votes in the State’s ongoing general election count.
The electoral umpire declares that no qualified voter who has turned out to cast a ballot will be denied their right to vote.
