Popular Nigerian Afrobeats music star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba better known by his stage name Mohbad, has sadly passed away at the young age of 27.

According to music executive, Ovie, the former Marlian Record signee reportedly died on Tuesday, September 12.

Ovie posted on his X (Twitter) handle Tuesday evening:

    “Confirmed. Mohbad is dead.

    Sad, sad day.

    RIP 🕊️💔,” he wrote.

The music executive also cautioned fans of the music star to beware of insinuations surrounding his demise.

    He wrote:

“It’s important to apply wisdom and caution when it comes to Mohbad’s demise. I’m already seeing some wild tweets. Do not make ridiculous insinuations. Be very careful,” he warned.

Recall that in 2022, Mohbad cried out for help on social media, stating that he was being severely and severally assaulted by his former record label boss, Naira Marley.

However, Marley denied all allegations of assault against the singer.

Mohbad had a promising career, with hit songs like KPK (Ko Por Ke) featuring Rexxie, Pariwo featuring Bella Shmurda, Peace, Imole, Ask About Me, and many others.

Fans of the artiste, and many Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media to mourn his passing, while expressing shock over the unfortunate turn of events in the young singer’s life.
