Nigerian Army Eliminate Banditry Leader Alhaji Auta

A infamous bandit operating in Birnin Magaji area of Zamfara State, North West Nigeria –Alhaji Auta, has been killed in air bombardments by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

Men of the NAF eliminated several members of his gang during the operation around his camp located at Jama’are Bayan Dutchi, in Nasarawa Mailayi District of Zamfara, on Saturday.

Auta is among the four kingpins terrorising several communities in the agrarian state.

According to a Twitter user and security expert, Yusuf Anka, “One of the most senior and notorious Bandits of Zamfara Alhaji Auta has been killed with scores of his men in the early hours of today by the Nigerian Airforce”.

Other unofficial military sources confirmed Auta’s death but couldn’t confirm casualty figure from the operation.

At the time of this report, official statement from the Nigerian Airforce or any concerned authority to corroborate the incident is yet to be released.
