About 24 Boko Haram terrorists have been neutralised by Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) personnel from the 112 Battalion and 24 Task Force Brigade in Borno State’s Mafa-Dikwa axis.
During a coordinated fighting patrol on Saturday with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), the terrorists were eliminated.
A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed in Maiduguri, yesterday: “The terrorists hibernating in Sambisa Forest were all killed in Bulakulari, Gwari-Gwazo, Loskori, Limanti and Gaza villages of the Forest.”
Along the 40-kilometre Maiduguri/Ngo road, he continued, the communities were used to assault troops and other law-abiding civilians.
Along with other weaponry used in attacks on various military bases and communities, the forces also found 40 bicycles.
He added: “Troops made sure that the entire area were cleared of all suspected terrorists elements.”
It should be recalled that on November 28, News Central reported that the Nigerian Government identified 100 high-risk financiers of Boko Haram.
Aregbesola made the disclosure at the recent 3rd Ministerial Conference on Counter-Terrorism Financing “No Money for Terror” which took place in India.
