Popular Nigerian family sitcom “The Johnsons” has officially come to an end after 13 years of “magic” on Africa Magic, Charles Inojie announced on Instagram.
Inojie, who played the character of Lucky Johnson, husband to Emu Johnson, appreciated the cast, crew, and fans across Africa who have faithfully followed the series for the period it lasted on television.
“THANK YOU, AFRICA.
After 13 years of absolute magic,
13 years of awesomeness,
13 years of being Africa’s most watched show on television,
13 years of being every family’s favorite,
THE JOHNSONS is finally taking a bow,” he wrote on Instagram late Monday.
“The Johnsons” is a Nigerian family show on Africa Magic that revolves around an average Lagos family, and how they navigate through daily challenges together as one family.
Following the death of Emu (Ada Ameh), one of the most loved characters on the show in 2022, fans began to lose interest in the show as many said things were no longer the same despite her replacement.
Many other actors, including Spiff (Samuel Ajibola) left the show to pursue other things.
‘The Johnsons” remains one of the most watched shows on television in Africa.
