In honour of this year’s Mawlud Nabbiyy celebration, which honours the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Federal Government of Nigeria has designated Monday, October 10 as a federal holiday.
Yesterday in Abuja, Federal Government Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola made the announcement. He extended his best wishes to all Muslims for witnessing this year’s celebration.
The government of Nigeria has issued a call for all citizens to adopt an attitude of love, patience, tolerance, and endurance, as expressed in a statement by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore.
It stated that these are profound spiritual qualities that Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) embodied and that promoting them would ensure the country’s stability, security, and harmony.
The government issued an appeal to all Nigerians, but especially Muslims, to avoid violence, disorder, and criminality.
