Nigerian Government Increases Passport Fees by 43%

The Nigerian government has announced a 43% increase in Nigerian passport fees.

The increase was officially announced on Wednesday by the Nigerian Immigration Service in an official statement released on X, formerly Twitter.

“Based on the review, the 32-page Passport booklet with five-year validity previously charged at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00) will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) only, while the 64-page Passport booklet with ten-year validity which was Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00) will be One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) only,” the statement revealed, adding that the passport fees remain unchanged in Diaspora.

DCI Kenneth Udo, the spokesman of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) disclosed this in a statement, saying the new price would be effective from September 1, 2024.
