The Nigerian government has announced a 24-hour deadline for prospective investors keen on participating in the 2024 oil block licensing bid round. Emphasising the urgency, potential bidders are encouraged to initiate their registration process swiftly.
Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), disclosed this information during Wednesday’s session at the 23rd Nigerian Oil and Gas Energy Conference (NOG) in Abuja.
Komolafe stated in his presentation titled, “Defining the Outlook for Deep Water Exploration and Production in Nigeria,” that the registration and submission of pre-qualification documents will close at midnight on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Earlier in May, the NUPRC enticed investors to participate in the bidding for its 12 new oil blocks and seven existing blocks, totalling 19 blocks available for the 2024 bidding round in Nigeria. Additionally, the Nigerian government recently revoked five oil blocks due to restrictions.
