Nigerian Government Unveils Identity of Kuje Prison Escapees

Following an invasion on Tuesday night by terrorists from the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), the Federal Government of Nigeria has made public, the identities of terrorists on the run.

Bashir Magaji, Minister of Defence, had said all the terrorists in the Kuje detention were released by the assailants who deployed bombs to gain entry, and set up vehicles around the facility on fire.

On Friday, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) released the names and pictures of some of the escapees.

Hamisu Wadume, the notorious kidnap kingpin from Taraba and Boko Haram Commander, Al Barnawi were not in the list. The NCoS authorities were silent on them.

Wadume is being held in connection with the killing of three members of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in a special operation led by embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari.

The list which carries the names and photographs of the wanted terrorists and other inmates was the first to be issued by the Service through the office of the Public Relations Officer, Umar Abubakar.

Among the terrorist whose identity were unveiled were Abubakar Yusuf, Abdulkareem Musa, Abdulkareem Adamu, Abdulsalami Adamu, Abubakar A Habibu, Abubakar Mohammed, Amodu Omale Salihu, Ismaila Idris Abdullahi, Suleiman Zacharia, Sunday Micheal, Baluye Modu, Adamu Hagola, Ibrahim Musa, Auwal Abubakar, Muktar Umar and Musa Umar, amongst others.
