Vice President Kashim Shettima has encouraged Nigerian doctors to stay in the country and collaborate with the current administration to improve the nation’s situation rather than seek better opportunities abroad.
During a meeting on Wednesday with the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), headed by its president, Prof. Bala Audu, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Shettima appealed to the medical practitioners to resist the temptation of foreign opportunities amidst the ‘Japa’ syndrome.
He assured the doctors that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dedicated to their welfare and deeply empathises with those who opt to remain and serve their country.
Shettima commended the significant contributions and sacrifices made by Nigerian doctors in advancing and improving healthcare delivery.
