Facts emerged on Sunday explaining how Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and his aides narrowly escaped a potential aircraft crash after the engine of their private jet suddenly developed some fault.
The incident reportedly occurred Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Murtala Mohammed Airport on a Bombardier Global Express 6000, owned by billionaire businessman Chief Adedeji Adeleke, father of music icon, David Adeleke aka Davido.
Spokesperson for the Osun State Governor, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday, confirmed that a crash of an aircraft conveying the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, and some of his aides, was narrowly averted while adding that two of the aircraft’s engines might have been tampered with.
Rasheed stated that the aircraft was well-maintained with the best technical crew and was never an unused platform where birds could build nests.
“The jet was scheduled to fly Adeleke and his aides from Lagos to Abuja.”
The statement further read, “Contrary to the claim by the hanger owner that birds’ nests caused the incident, birds’ nests are made with straws not bidding wires as in this case.”
According to sources, engineers swiftly examined the engine and discovered that it was faulty.
The flight was immediately aborted to avert any disaster as a result of engine failure.
The passengers were then evacuated from the aircraft.
