Adetutu Adedokun, an operative of the Department of State Services, has been identified as the woman who plunged into the Lagos Lagoon on Thursday afternoon (DSS)
She replaced her parent, who both worked for the plain cloth service, as an unarmed combat instructor, according to sources..
In a new confirmation on Friday, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), claimed that the search and rescue team is still in the Lagos lagoon looking for the victim.
Adedokun, who is in her late 30s, was recently recognised by the Director General of the DSS as the greatest unarmed combat operative in her set in a letter of praise.
It was also said that the victim’s fiance had just just gotten engaged to her. On the bridge, she had gotten out of an Uber taxi before jumping into the lagoon on Thursday afternoon. Before getting out of the vehicle, the driver claimed to be engaged in a furious argument with her fiancé.
The LRT, members of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LASWA), and DSS authorities all sprang into action shortly after the incident to rescue the victim.
