A senior Nigerian police officer in Enugu is being probed for the assault a female colleague.
If found guilty, Oluseyi Okenla, the state’s assistant commissioner, faces possible sanctions.
The security operative has not responded to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
The victim, identified as Helen, who is also a nursing mother, was said to be detained for several hours on the order of the power-drunk senior police officer.
Enugu State Commissioner of Police Abubakar Lawal, who reacted to the case in a statement, said “no stone would be left unturned.”
The statement reads; “The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, fdc, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of the State CID Enugu, to conduct a thorough and conclusive investigation into the story making the rounds on social media and blogs, alleging that an Assistant Commissioner of Police and Area Commander in-charge of Enugu Metro Area Command, ACP Oluseyi
“The investigation is in view of establishing the facts surrounding the allegations and apportioning appropriate disciplinary sanctions on whoever is found culpable.”
