The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) plans to introduce over 300 million litres of fuel into the market to address the ongoing fuel shortage, according to information gathered by News Central.

During a press conference aimed at discussing the fuel scarcity nationwide, MEMAN Chairman, Huub Stokman, expressed empathy for Nigerians grappling with frustration and difficulties due to the shortage. He assured that major marketers and other stakeholders in the supply chain are committed to restoring stability and ensuring fuel availability.

“Our top priority as MEMAN is to restore stability and ensure prompt fuel supply to all depots and retail outlets across Nigeria,” stated Stockman. “We want to reassure the public that there is an adequate supply of PMS available.”

He elaborated on the measures being taken, saying, “Our members are chartering over 8 vessels this week with over 300 million litres, which exceeds our usual volume. Our depots will extend their loading times to maximise distribution, with support from our partners in NARTO and PTDs to expedite product delivery to retail outlets.”

Stockman also assured that independent marketers have received additional allocations of PMS to ease the situation. He said that there will be no changes in prices. He attributed the current challenges to various logistical issues, including adverse weather conditions, but expressed optimism about significant improvements in the fuel supply situation in the coming days.
