Fountain of Life Church Founder in Nigeria Pastor Odukoya Passes Away in US

The Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has passed away. Odukoya was reported to have died on Monday, August 7, in the United States of America (USA).

In an official statement, the church expressed, “The Fountain of Life Church Family, in total submission to the will of God Almighty, announces the passing unto greater glory of our Father, Teacher – a great servant of the Most High God, Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, Founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, who passed away on August 7, 2023, in the USA. We are in total submission to you, LORD!!! We thank the Lord for the gift of a greater leader!!!”

Born on 15 June 1956 in the city of Kaduna, Colonial Nigeria, Odukoya also grew up there. He received his primary and secondary education at Baptist Primary School, Kigo Road, Kaduna, and St. Paul’s College (now known as Kufena College, Wusasa) Zaria respectively. Later, in 1976, he entered the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a degree in petroleum engineering in 1981.

Odukoya began his career as a petroleum engineer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in April 1982, following his completion of the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. He continued to serve there until his voluntary retirement in January 1994, following his call to the ministry.

In 1980, Odukoya crossed paths with Bimbo Williams at the University of Ibadan, and their relationship blossomed into marriage in 1984. The union bore three children. Tragically, on 10 December 2005, Bimbo Odukoya, along with 102 others, lost their lives in the crash of Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145. Bimbo Odukoya’s messages had been warmly and widely received by many.
