Police in Nigeria have effected the arrest of a notorious kidnapper, Bello Mohammed in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.
Mohammed was suspected of being involved in the abduction and murder of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, the daughter of a notable lawyer Monsur Al-Kadriyar in Bwari, FCT.
A team of police officers apprehended the bandit with a substantial amount of money believed to be illicit proceeds from ransom.
The kingpin attempted to bribe the Divisional Police Officer in Kaduna, a move which was turned down.
The Inspector-General of Police has ordered further investigations into Mohammed’s activities, including his connection to other bandit leaders in Kaduna and environs.
The suspect’s confession implicates five already neutralised bandits in Kaduna, led by Mai Gemu (aka Godara). The Police boas has directed that the suspects’ camp be destroyed.The Inspector-General commended the commitment and professionalism of the DPO of Tafa, SP Idris Ibrahim, and assured the public that the Police will spare no effort in eradicating criminal elements and ensuring a safer society in Nigeria.
