His successful attempt saw him skip 265 times, surpassing the previous record of 262 held by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh. Ezekiel’s feat was recognised about four months after his attempt at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure.

The Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation‘s national coach, Chubuisi Ukandu, was notified of the achievement, which has been updated on the Guinness World Records website.

Ezekiel expressed his happiness and thanked his coach for introducing him to rope skipping.

He also became the first athlete from Ondo State, the first Nigerian, and the first African rope skipper to achieve a Guinness World Records title.
