The Nigerian Senate has signed the new national minimum wage bill into law after it was transmitted by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday.
This is coming following the recent agreement reached by the Federal Government and leaders of Labour Unions on a new national minimum wage.
President Tinubu is expected to transmit a letter to ensure concurrence by the House of Representatives.
Unlike the former provision with a 5 year review period, the newly passed bill also has a provision for a review after 3 yearsm
The new minimum wage is part of efforts aimed at mitigating the effect the high cost of living faced by Nigerians.
