It was a rowdy resumption of the Senate to plenary as distinguished Senators fought over sitting arrangements in the newly renovated chambers.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio was still in the middle of his welcome-back speech when a verbal altercation broke out between some Senators.
Reports say the commotion was caused by the sitting arrangement in the refurbished chamber. It was alleged that some ranking senators were dissatisfied with the seats allocated to them.
The incident lingered for close to thirty minutes before the Senate President was able to intervene. The chamber was dissolved into a closed door as soon as Akpabio finished his remarks.
The Senate had adjourned plenary till April 16 but shifted resumption twice to allow for the completion of the chamber which had been under renovation for two years.
