Prominent Nigerian singer and instrumentalist Harrison Tare Okiri, better known as Harrysong has been appointed as Executive Assistant on Entertainment to the Governor of Delta state, Sheriff Oborevwori.
The excited entertainer shared the news to his fans on his Instagram page, with a copy of the appointment letter attached.
The “Reggae Blues” hitmaker extended his gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for assigning him the responsibility of running the office for his administration, adding that he would make good use of the role entrusted in his hands.
“Newly appointed E.A (Executive Assistant) Entertainment to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O Oborevwori. Thank you, my Governor.
“Now, address me as Hon. Superstar Harrysong. Thank you so much my Governor for entrusting me with this office to work. Deltans, get ready for ‘Kingmaker’ on March 30th. Sherrified and Ukodo International Festival 2024,” he wrote.
The singer’s appointment took effect from December 22, 2023, as stated in the letter.
Harrysong’s tribute song to Nelson Mandela shot him to prominence in 2013. The tribute song earned him the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at The Headies 2013 edition.
In 2015, he teamed up with Olamide, Kcee, Iyanya and Orezi in the hit track “Reggae Blues”.
The 42-year-old afrobeat sensation was born to Ijaw Parents in Warri, Delta state, Nigeria. He moved to Lagos in the year 2007 to pursue a career in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Harrysong captured the spotlight in November 2023 when he married 30 women in a single day.
