Nigerian Special Forces operating under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully eliminated a high-ranking Boko Haram/ISWAP commander, Amir Abu Fatima, along with several of his key lieutenants.
This major counter-terrorism operation took place on Friday in the Kukawa axis of Northern Borno State.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the terrorists’ hideout, troops launched a targeted assault.

Abu Fatima, who had a N100 million bounty on his head, was fatally shot during an intense exchange of gunfire. His deputy, several explosives experts, and numerous other fighters were also killed in the confrontation.
Following the operation, troops recovered a significant cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, improvised explosive device (IED) materials, and assorted ordnance. Remarkably, the Special Forces achieved this success without sustaining any casualties.
This operation represents a significant blow to the leadership structure of Boko Haram/ISWAP, underscoring the Nigerian military’s ongoing commitment to restoring peace and security in the Northeast region.
