Four Soldies and Thirteen Others Injured In Bauchi Road Crash (News Central TV)

According to the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), a deadly collision that happened on Wednesday at Kilometre 21 Lago village along Darazo-Kari Road in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State resulted in the deaths of four soldiers.

In addition to one fatality, there were also reports of thirteen other individuals suffering from various levels of injuries in the single vehicle collision.

According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi, they were on their way to Abuja in a commercial Toyota bus with the registration number ASU 363-XA on a work-related assignment when the event occurred.

He confirmed that the crash occurred at 1:36p.m. and involved 17 male soldiers.

“Our crew went to the crash site as soon as we received word of it to begin a rescue effort. They were transported to General Hospital, Darazo for care and verification,” Yusuf said.

“Four of them were confirmed dead by a doctor at the hospital. The same hospital was where the bodies were placed. The remaining 13 of them were hurt to varying degrees, including fractures, head injuries, and bruising. A tyre burst was the reason for the collision.

“According to the information gathered, some of them were sent to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for treatment, and were Army officers traveling to Abuja on business,” he added.
