11 Boko Haram insurgents have been neutralised by Operation Hadin Kai troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), while four more have been taken alive in Sambisa Forest, Northeast Nigeria.
The offensive onslaughts took place on August 4 and 5, 2023, when the troops launched an extraordinary advance into Boko Haram strongholds near Sambisa Forest in Bama LGA of Borno State.
Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, learned via intelligence sources that the army had successfully eliminated the insurgents and their hideouts in Bula Shetan, Lawanti, Garin Ari Shira, Lawanti, Kashimri, and Gaizuwa.
According to the sources, a fierce gunfight broke out between the troops and the terrorists in Garin Ari Shira during the course of the encounter. Five of the terrorists were successfully put to death by the military, who also completely destroyed the settlement.
The soldiers then moved on to Alafa. However, the militants left their homes and fled when they heard gunshots.
