Nigerian Troops Neutralise Several ISWAP Terrorists in Borno (News Central TV)

Military operations in Ngala Council of Borno State have resulted in the deaths of no fewer than 19 members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP.

In cooperation with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) forces executed the terrorists (JTF). The state capital Maiduguri is 235km east of the border settlement with Cameroun.

On October 2nd, the troops defeated an ambush while on patrol along the Dikwa-Gambouru axis, eliminating the ISWAP terrorists.

Confirming the incident, yesterday, in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, said “A large number of the terrorists laid an ambush for the troops on patrol and began firing from gun trucks and motorcycles,” adding that the military overcame in the nearly one-hour gun duel.

He added: “The troops later overwhelmed the terrorists and they fled towards Lake Chad.

“The troops captured a gun truck after killing its occupants, while nine AK-47 rifles and motorcycles each were also recovered.

“No fatalities were recorded on the side of troops, as only two soldiers were injured and evacuated for treatment at a Maiduguri hospital.”

This comes days after airstrikes at Yadi in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State by Operation Whirl Punch has killed terror kingpin, Ali Dogo and scores of his foot soldiers.

Ali Dogo, aka Yellow alongside his fighters were naturalised in a building they were said to be hosting a meeting.
