Aisha Yesufu has been a strong household name In the #ENDSARS protests. She advises Nigerian women that it is high time they came into offices and time for them to determine who gets a say. Also she urges Nigerian women to stop asking for a table, and if they have to construct their own tables, they should go ahead.
Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian socio-political activist, and co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, an advocacy group that brings attention to the abduction of over 200 girls, from a secondary school in Chibok, Nigeria, on 14 April 2014, by the terrorist group Boko Haram. Yesufu was among the women protestors at Nigeria’s National Assembly, in the nation’s capital, Abuja, on 30 April 2014.
Speaking on the ongoing protest in Nigeria, she tells the government of Nigeria that they have been lackadaisical about the people that elected them into power. In her words, “Leadership is not rocket science. It is all about empathy and care for the people. If you care for the people you serve, then you will do anything for them. You don’t have to know it all. You get the people who know better than you and give them a vision

She went ahead to tell every protester that they are leaders and the movement has leadership but those without leadership are the people in power. In Aisha’s words “Stop saying #SARSMUSTEND has no leadership. It has. Everyone of the #SARSMUSTEND protesters is a leader. Unlike in the past where there is one leader and followers, this one has everyone as a leader.
Right now it is the government that has no leadership.
#EndSWAT. The streets are big enough to accommodate all the different demands people have. Stop telling people what they should focus on. Come out and take on that, dear to you. Some Nigerians are demanding #EndInsecurityNow and I stand with them.

The activist didn’t just stop there, she went ahead to say, “All this nonsense of blaming the protesters has to stop. We have to blame the GOVERNMENT! It is the government that is being unlawful” Speaking to the protesters and how they stand together, Aisha says that the streets are beautiful! And on the streets everyone is equall and we stand shoulder to shoulder having each other’s back and ensuring we never leave anyone behind!
