Many Nigerian commuters and car owners have expressed their dissatisfaction and anger over the recent fuel scarcity rocking parts of Lagos and Abuja, which is also hitting deeper in other states in the country. This is coming amid controversies of petrol subsidy removal or otherwise in the country.
News Central has spotted residents in parts of Lagos and Abuja on Monday and Tuesday in long queues in petrol stations. This has also prompted motorists and commercial drivers to increase the fare of commuting from one place to another.
Nigerians have taken to their Twitter handles to express their anger and frustration at this development.
A Twitter user with the handle @kadoyebakre8 said; “What’s driving this fuel scarcity in Abuja and Lagos?”
Another Twitter user with the handle @ETUKMA tweeted; “There’s fuel scarcity on the island but there’s no fuel scarcity on the mainland.
“This Lagos is somehow.”
Recall, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) last week assured Nigerians that the company had sufficient Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as Petrol.
In a statement released by the Group Managing Director (GMD), Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, the corporation warned against panic-buying and reiterated its commitment to energy security for the country.
