Nigeria’s Anti-Narcotics Agency Impounds Cocaine, Skunk from Brazil

Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully impounded a large amount of illegal drugs that were being smuggled into the country from Brazil and Canada.

The drugs, which included 126.95 kilograms of cocaine and skunk, were discovered at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and the Tincan seaport in Lagos.

The NDLEA operatives also uncovered no less than 370kgs of cannabis from a sawmill at Ilale, Owo in Ondo State; a significant amount of cannabis and Tramadol pills were also seized during raids following credible intelligence in various locations across the country.

Speaking on the agency’s efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking and substance abuse, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa urged officers to remain dedicated to the cause.
