The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has condemned a video circulated by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Mangu Chapter, Reverend Timothy Daluk.
The video, which accuses the military of bias in addressing security challenges in Mangu, was deemed baseless and malicious by the DHQ.
The Acting Director of Defence Information,Brigadier General Tukur Gusau stated that: “The military remains neutral, focused, professional, and committed to its constitutional role of protecting lives and property.”
The DHQ emphasised the professionalism of troops in enforcing a curfew after a security breach on January 23, 2024, in Mangu.
The military called on the public to support ongoing operations against non-state actors, reaffirming its dedication to restoring peace. It warned against spreading falsehoods, asserting that legal action would be taken against those making baseless accusations.
The DHQ expressed gratitude to law-abiding citizens for their support, vowing to remain steadfast in preserving peace and national security.
