The Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, who was suspended on March 18 2022, following his interception over alleged money laundering and funds diversion, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Idris was released Wednesday night on bail, as confirmed by the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren.
“The suspended Accountant-General is out on bail. He was released last night,” he disclosed.
The freed Accountant-General was arrested by EFCC in March, and was served a letter of suspension three days later by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed.
