Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, donated N500 million to individuals impacted by the flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State, during a visit to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday.
The Vice President’s wife, Nana Kashim Shettima, representing Tinubu, presented the cheque to the governor and offered prayers for the affected individuals.
She commended the state government for its dedication at all levels and assured the youth and women in the state of continued support of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
During the visit, the wives of some state governors, ministers, and female members of the National Assembly were in the first lady’s delegation.
In response, Zulum praised the kind gesture, emphasising that the RHI program had empowered numerous women and vulnerable individuals in the state.
He also commended President Tinubu for visiting Maiduguri on Monday to express solidarity with the state’s people regarding the disaster.
