Nigeria’s First Lady Renames Auditorium After Maryam Abacha

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu,has renamed the main auditorium of Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development after Dr Maryam Abacha, the Wife of former military Head of State late Gen. Sani Abacha.

The auditorium once known as African Peace Mission Hall, was renamed to honour Dr. Abacha’s peace advocacy in Africa.

The event highlighted the importance of unity and lasting relationships among women, with Dr. Abacha’s contributions praised by various speakers including the Director General of the centre, Mrs Asabe Bashire and the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Women Affairs Mrs Monilola Udoh.

The matriarch encouraged women to contribute to national development and expressed optimism for the future.
