Nigeria: House of Reps to Screen Service Chiefs on Monday (News Central TV)

The recently nominated service chiefs will be vetted by the House of Representatives on Monday. The majority of the screening is anticipated to take place in private.

Chief of Defence Staff Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and Chief of Air Staff AVM Hassan Abubakar are the service chiefs that President Bola Tinubu appointed.

The Senate’s Thursday screening and ratification of the service chiefs’ nomination will be followed by the session.

The service chiefs responded to inquiries on current events and defense-related topics during the session behind closed doors, according to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate’s red chamber was asked to confirm the service chiefs by the President in a letter that was read aloud on Monday.

On Thursday, the Senate resumed its plenary session and began the screening of the service chiefs. Each of them took the stage to discuss how, if confirmed, they would deal with the nation’s security.
