The President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu on Thursday named eight special advisers in various capacities This is contained in a release signed by the Director of Information at the State House, Abiodun Oladunjoye. The list includes Wale Edun as his Special Adviser, responsible for Monetary Policies. Another appointment made by the President is Dele Alake, who will serve as Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy. The State House’s Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye, announced these appointments on Thursday.
The list of appointments also includes Yau Darazo as Special Adviser for Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, Olu Verheijen as Special Adviser for Energy, and Zacchaeus Adedeji as Special Adviser for Revenue. In total, President Tinubu appointed eight special advisers.
Dele Alake, previously the director of strategic communication for the All Progressives Congress Presidential campaign, will now serve as the Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy.
Yau Darazo has been designated as the Special Adviser for Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, while Wale Edun has been appointed as the Special Adviser for Monetary Policies.
Other appointees include Nuhu Ribadu, the Special Adviser for Security; and John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu, the Special Adviser for Industry, Trade, and Investment.
Two women are also part of the new special advisers: Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas, who has been appointed as the new Special Adviser for Health, and Olu Verheijen, who will serve as the Special Adviser for Energy.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier sent a list to the ninth senate as a request to appoint twenty Special Advisers which was then communicated through a letter read by the former Senate President Ahmad Lawan during the plenary session held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2023.
