Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s president-elect, is anticipated to return to the country on Monday (today), barring any last-minute adjustments. He has been away from the country for 34 days.

According to his campaign council, Tinubu left the nation on March 21 in order to rest and make plans before his inauguration on May 29.

After a demanding campaign and election season, Tinubu traveled to France to relax and arrange his transition strategy, according to a statement from the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council in March.

“The president-elect had left the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja,” the statement noted.

“The president-elect decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London, preparatory to going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting.”

His Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the former governor of Lagos State’s anticipated arrival on Monday.

Onanuga said on Twitter that the incoming president had been on holiday in France.

A convoy resembling a carnival would transport Tinubu, whose plane is scheduled to land at the presidential wing of the Abuja Airport, from the airport to the Defense House.

“Nigeria’s President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Abuja today after weeks of a well-deserved vacation in France. E kaabo! Se dada le de!” he tweeted.
