Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze has scored his first goal in nine games.
The Nigerian winger received the ball on the edge of the box and fired in a first-time shot without hesitation to end his goal drought for Villarreal in their 2-2 draw with Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Europa Conference League.
Chukwueze scored in the 57th minute after Tomer Hemed gave the visitors the lead with a penalty in the 48th minute. Arnaut Danjuma extended the Yellow Submarine’s lead 20 minutes from time, but Be’er Sheva answered again, this time through Sagiv Shalom Yehezke nine minutes later.
Chukwueze’s third goal of the season came once again in the Europa Conference League. His first strike of the season was in a 4-2 victory over Hajduk Split of Croatia on August 18 before finding the net again in a 4-3 triumph against Lech Poznan of Ukraine on September 9.
Villareal had already qualified for the next round after winning their first four games, and the draw keeps them atop the group with 13 points.
