Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen continued his hot streak by scoring his ninth goal of the season in Napoli’s 3-2 win against Udinese on Saturday, extending their winning league streak to 11 games in their final game before the World Cup break.
Osimhen and Piotr Zielinski put the hosts up by two goals at halftime before Eljif Elmas made it 3-0. lija Nestorovski and Lazar Samardzic reduced the arrears for Udinese late on.
Luciano Spalletti’s team now leads Lazio by 11 points, with AC Milan in the third position.
Napoli are only the second side in Serie A history, after Juventus, to win at least 13 of their first 15 league games.
They had previously won the Serie A title twice, in 1986–87 and 1989–90, both times under club legend, Diego Maradona.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will not partake in this year’s World Cup after failing to defeat Ghana at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, where the Black Stars forced a 1-1 draw to go through on away goals.
