Nigeria’s VP Yemi Osinbajo Dismisses Interest in 2023

The media aide of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande says his principal has not declared interest in the 2023 presidential election. 

Laolu Akande disclosed this via a statement issued on Monday.

He disclosed that Prof. Osinbajo has not declared any interest whatsoever in the 2023 elections, but is rather focused on working in his capacity as Vice President in the current administration to address the concerns of Nigerians and compelling issues in the country and , including finding effective and lasting solutions to the security challenges.

Akande’s reaction followed a volunteer group’s mobilising efforts for Osinbajo ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The vice president’s spokesman said Osinbajo “is not in any way connected to this website or the group behind it and considers such an enterprise an unnecessary distraction.

Osinbajo is rumoured to be nursing a presidential ambition as Nigerians gear up for the next election cycle two years from now.

He has asked Nigerians to disregard the volunteer group that claims to be mobilising support for him.
